A Christmas tree fire is the most common type of fire during the holidays. There are many ways that you can avoid a Christmas tree fire which include using proper lights, keeping your tree moist, and not using candles on or around the tree.
Many home fires during the holidays are caused by a Christmas tree. There is nothing more devastating than losing everything you own during the holidays. One of the ways that you can avoid a fire with the tree is by using proper lights on the tree. It is very common for lights to be shorted out and the reason a fire started. You might keep your lights and decorations every year so you save on the costs of decorating. Lights can be strung into one another. This allows you to put as many strands as you like and have your tree as bright as you would like. However, using last year’s lights is not the best idea. If your lights were packed away improperly or the wire has a short, it could cause you to have a fire. The decorative lights for a Christmas tree are set at such a low price that they are affordable to buy brand new. Toss out last years lights and don’t risk your home burning down.
A dry tree is a tree that is ready for a fire. Fires can start when a tree is too dry and doesn’t have any water. You are supposed to put your Christmas tree in a stand with water and sugar. You might have moved to the states through United States immigration by obtaining US Visas after your USCIS forms were approved and had never had a Christmas tree. When you buy a real tree, you won’t be educated on how to take care of it. Make sure the tree doesn’t get too dry. Also, don’t leave your lights on while you are away. They can get hot if they are on all of the time and cause the tree to catch fire. The best way to avoid the Christmas tree fire is by buying an artificial Christmas tree.
So many people love to use candles during the holidays. Some people have candle holders and tree ornaments where candles are placed in them. These can look beautiful but a tree and a lit candle should never be near one another. Hot candle wax can even cause a fire with a dry tree. If you are using candles during the holidays, it is best that you keep them away from the tree and in a secure location so they do not fall or cannot be knocked down and cause a fire.
The last thing you want during the holidays is a Christmas tree fire. It will ruin the holidays. Many ways to avoid a Christmas tree fire is by buying an artificial tree or keeping your tree watered, buying new lights and ensuring there are no shortages in the wires, and by not using candles on or around the tree.
